Pisa Academy, three entrances from the Gulf of Gaeta

Gaeta, 30 April 2024 – The beautiful ceremony took place on Wednesday 24 April, in the splendid setting of the Palazzo dei 12, in Piazza dei Cavalieri in Pisa, which sees the entry every year of new Academicians into the prestigious Naval Academy of the Cavalieri di Santo Stephen. The Gulf of Gaeta is well represented.

This year, in fact, three entries from the Gulf have “graduated” as new academics. They are Frigate Captain Francesco Brengola, former commander of the Pol Nato base in Gaeta, Dr. Nicola Pasciuto and Lawyer Nicola Pesacane. The latter author of a pamphlet containing documentary studies on the ancient Order of Saint Stephen, promoted by the Legation of Gaeta and donated to the new academics undergoing investiture.

The activity of the new academics, their cultural dissemination activity, was considered essential and in line with the aims of the Academy. The Legates of the Institution of the Knights of Saint Stephen of the Gulf of Gaeta, Dr. Daniele Elpidio Iadicicco and the knight. Alberto Simione, had made this report to the Academy council thanks to the continuous collaboration in the cultural field established with the three new academics.

Only fifteen new entries throughout Italy including university professors, senior officers of the armed forces, personalities from the scientific and business world. High satisfaction from the President of the Institution Umberto Ascani, who underlined how the Academy and its members are essential to the work carried out in the cultural field, introducing the President of the Academy, prof. Marco Gemignani, who proceeded with the acceptance of the new academics.
