“We are aiming for an increasingly cardio-protected territory”

The event, aimed at employers and workers belonging to the organisation, is part of a training and health promotion campaign implemented by EBT

The BLSD course promoted by the Bilateral Trade, Tertiary and Services Body of Catanzaro, Crotone and Vibo in close collaboration with Confcommercio Calabria Centrale – Territorial Area of Vibo Valentia was held in recent days in Vibo Valentia.

The event, aimed at employers and workers belonging to the organisation, is part of a training and health promotion campaign implemented by EBT and aimed at training in the field of vital functions and early defibrillation at aim of providing theoretical and practical notions easily applicable in emergency situations.

During the course, participants were taught the use of the semi-automatic external defibrillator in extra-hospital settings and the main basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers in adults and children.

Furthermore, participants will be offered knowledge on the recognition of cardiac arrest, resuscitation, safe application of the sequence of defibrillation and CPR shocks and detection of malfunctions of the device.

“This path that we are pursuing in a coordinated and continuous manner in collaboration with Confcommercio – stated the president Fortunato Lo Papa – will allow us to have an increasingly cardio-protected province and territory. As a Bilateral Body we are putting a lot of resources on the table to spend on the training and retraining of workers in the sectors within our competence in such crucial and at the same time little-attented areas. Accidents and deaths at work are still described with war bulletin numbers, words and rhetoric are not enough, condolences are not enough but facts are needed. In our small way, this is what we are doing with the BLSD courses and with all our wealth of proposals and interventions regarding health and safety at work”.

“At the same time, the organization is carrying out a varied training offer to provide increasingly more skills and potential to employers and workers. We are particularly keen to pay attention to the territory of Vibo Valentia which – concludes Lo Papa – has many potentials in the field of trade and services which, if adequately developed, can increase the territorial area and make it increasingly attractive”.
