High profile challenge on Sunday in Prato where the Marathon Da Piazza a Piazza returns, a stage of the Coppa Toscana Mtb as well as the two groups of the Rampitek and the Deltos Cup. The event, in its 35th edition, is one of the oldest in the national cycling calendar fat and as always attracts the attention of many leading teams. It will be like this again this year given that some of the stars of Italian MTB and not only have ensured their participation, making the Prato test a key event of the season.
SoudalLeecougan will be present in force, with the two-time world champion Leonardo Paez (COL), the European champion Adelheid Morath (GER) and the Italian champion Sandra Mairhofer, winner last year, who will find what they are looking for, given the presence of the BottecchiaFactory Team led by Stefano Valdrighi, winner so far of the three previous stages of the Coppa Toscana MTB, in Monteriggioni, Porto Santo Stefano and Sinalunga. Also pay attention to Rolling Bike, the Calabrian team that with Pierpaolo Ficara, Vincenzo Saitta and Emanuele Spica is collecting great results throughout Italy. The Mentecorpo Cicli Drigani team arrives from the other part of Italy, precisely from Piedmont, with Chiara Burato candidate for success but also with Pietro Dutto and Stefano Goria.
We remind you that the main route measures 61 km with a difference in altitude of 2.05 metres, with the GPM at an altitude of 866 meters above sea level. The average route is 45 km by 1,400 metres. Departure from the Bisenzio River bed at Parco degli Ulivi at 9.30 am for the Marathon, 5 minutes later for the Granfondo. The route is a ring, with the start/finish area which will also host all the pre and post race services. Four refreshment areas are planned, at km 10, 35, 47 and 57.
Registration open until April 19th at 35 euros, on Saturdays and Sundays it will still be possible to pay on site for 40 euros, while for cycle tourists the fixed fee is 30 euros. Collection of numbers and race packs from 3pm to 7pm and Sunday from 7am to 9am, at the starting area. Prizes for the first 3 overall and 5 in the category for the Marathon, first 3 overall and in the category for the Granfondo.
