“Bike Experience”, the Cycling Tourism Festival returns to Piedmont

After the one in Bologna, it is the second event in the world of two wheels, the most important in terms of size, at an Italian level. Let’s talk about “Bike Experience”Cycle Tourism Festival (free entry), created in 2022 by the Association “Turin Bike Experience” (born in 2018) and hosted for its third edition, Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st April next, in the greenery of “Cascina Le Vallere – Piedmontese Po Protected Areas” (corso Trieste, 98) in Moncalieri (Turin). The figures for the first two editions, which saw the participation of over 10 thousand peoplehundreds of guests, exhibitors and associations for the promotion of the area.

Explains Alessandro Ippolitocurator of the Festival: “’Bike Experience’ was born not only as ‘trade fair’, but how experiential festival’ where you come to see bicycles and accessories, but you also take part in ‘activities’, listen to ‘testimonies’ and ‘stories’ from cycle tourists and even get advice from ‘biomechanists’ and ‘nutritionists'”. The Festival therefore wants to be for everyone – from the neophyte to the professional – a container of proposals with, in addition, “four excursions”. And there will be no shortage of activities over the two days outdoor in the park and for families. “Among the strong points of the festival – adds Ippolito – the ‘workshops’. Participants will be able to delve into the most varied topics, from bicycle mechanics to the art of bike packaging, from cartography to how to service your two-wheeler”.

Well 52 the talk, which range from how to travel with children, to legendary climbs, from itineraries in the Chierese area to those in South America. Again, speaking of figures: if in the first edition, there were exhibitors 20last year there were some 45 and this year it has risen to 50. The brands present are beyond 150. THE talk are scheduled 50 (to which is added the viewing of two documentary films, for a total of 52 meetings), 10 theworkshops, 4 excursions (around 500 cyclists cycled in 2023), with one also expected “junior track” of one thousand square meters which will see the presence of the national “UISP” technicians. “Bike Experience” will also have an “offshoot” this year Luserna San GiovanniSaturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June, dedicated to “Alpine cycle tourism” with “Alpi Bike” organized with the collaboration of “UpslowTour”.

The Festival opens, in the presence of the authorities, Saturday 20 April, at 9.30. At 10 o’clock opening to the public, from 11 the activities begin. The “Villaggio Expo” closes on Saturday at 18. From 6.30pm there is the “Bike Party” in Cascina. Sunday 21 April open to the public at 10 o’clock with activities from 11. The closure at 18.

Important “news” of the 2024 edition: “Sustainable mobility” (focus on electric bicycles, cargo bikes And folding bike), Women’s cycle tourism (special meetings on “pink” cycle tourism), Cycle tourism lounge (with presentation to the public of products and services aimed at the “travel cycle”), “Ferrino” base camp (a large display of tents, equipment and accessories for travel and cycle tourism; campers and roof tents for adventures will also be available “on the road”), Free tent space (inside the park), Cargo Bike Day (games and activities for families, Sunday 21st, and a focus on “inclusive mobility”).
