Volleyball, yet another defeat in the play-offs for Dinamo Molfetta

The “no” moment continues for Dinamo CAB Molfetta who are unable to impose themselves in the home clash against ASD Aurora Volley Brindisi. At the Pala Poli in Molfetta it ends 0-3 for the Brindisi after an almost storyless first and third set. In the promotion playoffs, coach Drago’s team remains at 0 points in the standings due to a reaction that continues to fail.

The approach in the first set of the girls in the orange shirts is one to forget. Too soft against an opponent who attacks from the first minutes and who shows determination in all the fundamentals, especially blocking. Brindisi immediately responds to Fracchiolla’s initial lead with a draw that persists at 4-4/5-5. Subsequently, the guests begin their journey towards winning the first set: they place a +5 to reach 5-10 which leaves Dinamo with little hope of a comeback. At 7-18, the girls in the orange shirts, with Parisi, Fracchiolla and Zakrajšek, try to make the deficit less heavy. The first set ends 12-25 for Brindisi. The second set is certainly more competitive, especially at the start. Dinamo, right in the early stages, forces their opponents to run.

It is Fracchiolla who brings the home team to 3-0 which is followed shortly after by Brindisi’s response. It is at 6-3, again signed by Fracchiolla, that the girls in orange shirts play the best volleyball of the whole match. Panunzio’s precious recoveries in reception neutralize Brindisi’s attacks, whose response, however, is not long in arriving. The latter reached a draw at 9-9 and took the lead for the first time (in the second set) at 13-15. It’s a very hard-fought phase of the match made up of overtaking and counter-overtaking. All this until 21-21 when Brindisi then takes over the set and makes it their own, prevailing with a result of 21-25. In the third set, Dinamo pulled out all the stops and left the game to their opponents. At the immediate 1-3, the distances are shortened by Fracchiolla and Mastropasqua, with the latter scoring the point which is worth 5-8. From that moment on, Brindisi spreads, reaching +5, also taking advantage of some errors from the hosts in reception and serving. At 12-20, Dinamo tries to respond with Cosentino and Cervelli: the former scores two consecutive points, one on serve and the other after a precious recovery; the second hole the opponent’s wall, but subsequently misses the serve.

And this is how Aurora Brindisi also wins the third set with a score of 18-25 and the match 0-3. «We certainly faced an excellent team that boasts elements of a superior category – said coach Michele Drago after the match – and who can play in superior categories. The technical gap between the two teams was clear, but our mistakes added to it. In the second set we reacted, improving something, and then we witnessed a third set where the opponent’s excessive physical power came to the fore.” Dinamo CAB Molfetta returns to the field for the eighth day of the playoffs on Saturday 4 May at 8.30 pm at Pala Poli against Citymoda Amatori Bari. Bitter away match for the Serie D Dinamo boys led by coach Michele Cavaliere. In San Giovanni Rotondo they suffered a 3-0 defeat (25-22; 25-20; 25-22) at the hands of Volley Academy SGR. Having closed the regular season with 18 points and in penultimate place in the standings, the boys from Serie D Dinamo will be called to play in the playouts (the program of which will be defined in the next few days) to stay in Serie D.
