Cadillac confident: “The V-Series.R can go strong at Imola”

Cadillac Racing has already been able to get to know all the characteristics of the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, where the 6h which represents the second seasonal stage of the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship will be held over the weekend.

The V-Series.R #2 managed by Chip Ganassi Racing is called upon to make up ground, given that the points gained with a good recovery from the rear in Qatar were pulverized due to the disqualification inflicted on it due to a technical infringement identified by the stewards in the straps of the speaker.

On the banks of the Santerno the line-up will consist of just two drivers, the year-round starters Earl Bamber and Alex Lynn, who appear particularly confident in view of this commitment.

Bamber, among other things, kicked off his excellent international career in Imola: “Imola was my first European race ever, it was 2008 and I have good memories because I won and therefore it made everything even more fun . It was an eye-opening event and I can’t wait to return with the Cadillac and compete for another success.”

“I think Qatar was a good start to the season, considering our limited preparation, and that the whole team did a fantastic job in the strategy to get us out of a problem at the start and put us in a position to carry out the right cycle of pit stops”.

“It’s a credit to the entire team and the growth that the Cadillac program is making, we are getting stronger and stronger with each race and this shows that we have a good starting base, so we are excited to race at Imola with our car.”

“We’ve already lapped there once and it was phenomenal. I think it will be very difficult to manage the traffic and it will be a spectacular race for the fans. With Ferrari and Lamborghini on the starting grid, I think the fans will be there en masse, I expect it’s a real celebration.”

Lynn adds: “I can’t wait to get back to Imola. It’s a fantastic track, a historic venue and I think it’s ideal to host the second round in 2024. The fans will create a great atmosphere, which is always fun when it comes to WEC European races”.

“As a team, we are excited to get back to racing, the season is starting to get into full swing in preparation for Le Mans. Imola is a twisty circuit, with lots of braking and restarts, which seems to be in our car’s favour, so I’m quite optimistic “.
