The new cycle path was inaugurated in Caserta, which connects a long stretch of the city, from Corso Giannone to the Municipal Library, passing through key places such as Via GM Bosco, Piazza Cattaneo, Piazza Pitesti, Via Leonardo Da Vinci, Viale Gallicola, Viale Michelangelo and Via Lodati. And precisely in Piazza Pitesti this green infrastructure was opened this morning, in the presence of the Mayor of Caserta, Carlo Marino, of the Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Mobility, Emiliano Casale, of the Councilor for Traffic, Roads and Municipal Police, Massimiliano Marzo, of the ‘Councilor Enzo Battarra, the municipal councilors Andrea Boccagna, Giovanni Comunale, Roberta Greco, Giovanni Lombardi and the Commander of the Local Police, Antonio Piricelli.

The project was carried out with funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and is part of the initiatives aimed at strengthening alternative mobility, both pedestrian and cycle, which is experiencing a significant increase and development in our territory in the last years.

The new cycle path adds to those previously created in Corso Giannone, Via Verdi and via Renella and precedes the works which, within the Pinqua area, will allow the creation of cycle paths within the Acquaviva district. In total, at the end of all the interventions, the city of Caserta will have 18 km of cycle paths. “Today we are inaugurating the first batch of cycle paths – explained the Mayor of Caserta, Carlo Marino – and the construction site is already being organized in Via Unità Italiana and in Viale Medaglie d’Oro.

We have a duty to improve the quality of life, enhance green mobility, allow our children to ride their bikes in complete safety. We must win this challenge, demonstrating that in Caserta we can and must focus on a new mobility model.”

“This project – added Deputy Mayor Emiliano Casale – will enable citizens to be able to use an alternative mobility system, based not only on traditional bikes but also on scooters, electric bikes and electric scooters, which will also allow them to reach the hilly hamlets. This will guarantee safety for citizens and will allow us to move towards more advanced, cutting-edge mobility, worthy of a modern city”.
