Violence, resistance and insult to a public official, personal injury and refusal to provide information on one’s identity. These are the accusations against a 30-year-old resident in the Ossola capital, who, in the throes of alcohol, damaged a bar and harassed customers, before being stopped and arrested by the Carabinieri of the Aliquota Radiomobile of Domodossola.
The facts
The facts date back to the afternoon of Thursday 11 April when a 112 call was received regarding two drunk men who were damaging a bar and harassing the patrons. The call had reached the State Police, but in the meantime a Domodossola Carabinieri Radiomobile patrol that was passing by was stopped by some passers-by who pointed to two subjects who were staggering along the pavement. As the car with the institute colors passed, one of the two insulted the police who got out of the car to identify them.
In the throes of alcohol, the two began to heavily insult the soldiers, seeking physical confrontation. Not even the arrival of the State Police patrol was enough to calm things down. Indeed, the newly arrived officers were subjected to insults and threats. One of the two men, with a medium-sized dog on a leash, was the most violent, and was supported by his companion who stood between him and the soldiers to prevent them from identifying him. Taking advantage of his friend’s help, the former tried to walk away, but was blocked by the police.
A scuffle arose in which the man began to hit the soldiers with kicks and punches, even biting the finger of one of them. Only the resolute intervention of the workers contained the fury of the man, who was later declared under arrest.
Taken to prison, the man was questioned by the Judge, who applied the law against him
precautionary measure of house arrest.
