“With the Grillo Administration, institutionalized and unprecedented support for the ‘A Scurata. A loan of around 50,000 euros compared to the previous 5 thousand from past administrations.

Reply note to the letter from the MAC board regarding the patronage of the ‘A Scurata’ exhibition.

“A Scurata has always been in our programs – states the mayor Massimo Grillo – and since I took office my Administration has never lacked support in terms of patronage, economic contributions, logistical support, services and cost reduction”

“The numbers speak clearly – continues the Councilor for major events Ignazio Bilardello – the Mac is one of the artistic realities which, with the Grillo Administration, has received recognized contributions of over 50 thousand euros in the last three years. Numbers that appear in all their importance if we consider that the previous administration did not make any contribution for some years, reserving around 5 thousand euros for the ‘A Scurata’ exhibition.

Mayor Grillo and councilor Bilardello continue: “In the meetings of recent months, given the scarcity of resources of the Municipality and the private nature of ‘A Scurata – which in the summer version is held exclusively in the private space of the Saline Genna – we had the opportunity to share with the Mac board the need to find financing methods that did not rely only on the limited municipal coffers. In recent months, as an Administration, we have worked and are working towards this. So much so that the Administration has included the event among the events sponsored by the Municipality for summer 2024.”

“Today – concludes councilor Bilardello – we learn with surprise and regret this position with which the Mac effectively withdraws itself from the program of events promoted and sponsored by the Municipality for which the Administration, as already agreed with the board of the Mac itself, asked for funding from the Sicilian Region. Evidently the exhibition, through the ticketing and the contribution of private individuals, after years of testing in which the support of the Municipality was necessary which our administration has never lacked, has finally achieved economic autonomy and can continue to walk with the own legs. We can only be happy about this, aware of the contribution given by our Administration in the delicate years of the start-up”.
