The entire Serie C play-off program has been postponed by three days. The appeal presented by Taranto after the 4 penalty points inflicted by the League was the subject of extensive debate. An extraordinary council meeting was held today at CONI which brought forward the date of discussion of the appeal by setting the date of 3 May. The play offs, at least the first qualifying round, had been scheduled for the 4th, i.e. the following day.
Professor Vito Branca, President of the First Section of College of Guaranteehaving taken note of the declaration of waiver of all the defense deadlines provided for by the Code, formalized by the defense of Taranto in the introductory document of the appeal, as well as by the defense of the Italian Football Federation with the memorandum of appearance filed on 24 April 2024, has scheduled the hearing relating to the procedure requested by Taranto FC 1927 Srl with an appeal against the CFA/FIGC decision (penalty of 4 points in the Serie C football championship) on May 3, 2024starting from 2.30 pm, exclusively in electronic mode, via videoconference.
The dates of the play-offs are therefore postponed by three days.
The President of the Italian Professional Football League Matteo Marani, upon express mandate of the Board of Directors, has ordered the update of the Play Off calendar: on the occasion of the first round of the national phase, Catania will play the first leg on Tuesday 14 May, away ; Saturday 18 May, at the “Massimino”, the return match.
