To celebrate Earth Day, the Sustainability Commission of Federmanager Bologna – Ferrara – Ravenna and the Order of Engineers of the Province of Bologna, with the patronage of the Orders of Engineers of the provinces of Ferrara and Ravenna, are organizing Friday 19 April from 2.30 pm to 6.30 pm the conference “Climate change: understanding events and their dynamics to make effective choices”. The event, for which it is necessary to register online in advance, will take place in person in Bologna at the Industrial Heritage Museum in via della Beverara 123. “According to a recent report by the European Environment Agency, which was followed by a communication from the European Commission – declared Roberto Pettinari, head of the Sustainability and Infrastructure Commission for Environment, Territory, Energy of Federmanager Bologna-Ferrara-Ravenna and moderator of the conference – Europe is not prepared for the rapid increase in climate risks, which threaten the safety of living beings and crucial infrastructures, risking upsetting its current socio-economic balance. So much so that the need to invest more and quickly with the implementation of strong adaptation policies and interventions and not only in cutting emissions is highlighted.” “In view of Earth Day, which like every year falls on April 22 – continues Pettinari – as Federmanager we wanted to make our contribution with a moment of in-depth analysis dedicated to climate change starting from data analysis. The conference, thanks to the presence of speakers with very high professionalism and long international experience, independently engaged in an open dialogue on atmospheric physics, meteorology, geology, communication operations and analysis, aims to contribute to facilitating a balanced perception of events that can significantly influence our lives, leaving participants with some more tools to critically analyze conclusions and choices essential for the evolution of society taking place on a global level.” The works will be opened by the video message from the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security Gilberto Pichetto Fratin. This will be followed by a speech by Professor Teodoro Georgiadis, Atmospheric Physicist of the CNR, as well as Academic Member Athens Institute for Education and Research, aimed at illustrating the “Climate dynamics between models and observations”. Immediately afterwards, General Luca Baione, Head of the General Office of Military Aviation and Meteorology, Permanent Representative of Italy to the World Meteorological Organization and WMO Executive Advisor, will speak about “The meteorological service of the Air Force at the service of the national and international community in the processes of adaptation to climate change”, while Francesco Maffini, Head of Asset Management of the Water Department of the HERA Group will present the topic “Infrastructural and management strategies in the integrated water service sector for adaptation to climate change”. It will then be the turn of Massimo Kolletzek, SIATE Federmanager Commission Bologna – Ferrara – Ravenna, expert in Air Transport, Mobility and Energy Systems with the speech “Data and concrete facts underlying the actions”. Finally, Caterina Giannelli, analyst, word scientist and brainworker, will speak on “The environment of the word”.
