D’Alfonso criticizes the vice president of Saga

“Contrary to what Saga vice president Alessandro D’Alonzo says, Abruzzo airport is not going through a good time.”

This was said by the deputy of the Democratic Party, Luciano D’Alfonso, who responded to D’Alonzo’s statements after the start of the summer season.

“The first three months of 2024 – says D’Alfonso – are not in line with the same period of 2023 because 3,755 fewer passengers were registered: in practice, in the first quarter of this year the Abruzzo airport lost on average 1,250 users per month compared to the same period last year.

The slight increase in March 2024 which D’Alonzo is waving as a success is due to a mere temporal coincidence: the ‘low’ Easter (31 March) meant that the increase in passengers which characterizes holiday periods was calculated in the first quarter.

If we then broaden our gaze to the last two months of 2023, we discover that the Pescara airport recorded 6,974 fewer users (3,690 in November and 3,284 in December) compared to the previous year.

We therefore find ourselves faced with a systematic crisis, due to the cancellation of flights to Milan Linate and Warsaw, in addition to the heavy cuts to connections with Turin, Barcelona (Girona), Bergamo, Dusseldorf, Malta and Memmingen. Far from reaching the milestone of one million passengers.”
