Germany, kiosk explodes in Duesseldorf: three dead and several injured

Over 100 firefighters intervened to put out the fire and provide rescue services. Two people were in serious condition

Three people died and at least 16 others were injuredof which 2 seriously, due to theexplosion of a kiosk inside a residential and commercial building in Duesseldorf, Germany. According to initial reconstructions, the explosion, which caused a fire, occurred around 2.30 am on Thursday. The kiosk it was located on the ground floor of an apartment building. Many people sought refuge on balconies. The firefighters, reports the broadcaster Wdr, reported that they had rescued over 70 residents. The explosion also set 4 nearby cars on fire and a house across the street was also hit by debris. The cause of the fire is not yet clear. During the night they are over 100 firefighters attended to put out the fire and help the injured. The building is currently unusable. It is yet to be seen whether residents can return.
