The shouting and insults to the young woman behind the wheel, then the attempt to open the door. Finally the punch on the bonnet, so powerful that it left a dent in the bodywork. Almost a week has passed since the episode, but the damage (the crease in the bodywork) remains, as does the fear of the 37-year-old who was driving the car.
The events occurred between 8.25 and 8.30 on Tuesday 9 April in the city: Giada (fictitious name) was stopped at the traffic light at the intersection between via Crocifissa di Rosa and via Carlo Pisacane, but when the green light came on a car cut her off the road: “Instinctively I honked the horn – he tells us -, the man who was driving the other car got out of the vehicle and started yelling at me, claiming to be right”.
The screams and the punches on the bodywork
An argument, in the midst of heavy traffic in the morning and in front of dozens of people, which risked degenerating: “I was about to get out, but when I realized that the driver was quite upset, I stayed inside and tried to do so there was no way: he screamed at the top of his lungs and tried to open the door for me, then he punched the hood of my car violently.”
No one would have intervened to help the young mother and try to restore calm: “Despite the fact that the city at that time was more crowded than a shopping center on a public holiday, no one moved to defend her”, Giada’s sister tells us that – on the phone – witnessed the violent argument.

After venting his anger on the bodywork, the driver started the car and left, before Giada could memorize the license plate number. In shock, he reached his workplace and then the police station to file a complaint.
“I don’t blame anyone, because I understand that those who witnessed the scene were perhaps afraid to intervene”, concludes Giada, entrusting us with a request: “Anyone who witnessed the shocking argument and perhaps managed to get the license plate number should come forward”.
