Ibrahimi Senad, Antonio Morra’s attacker, remains in prison

Ibrahimi Senad remains in prison, the man accused of complicity in manslaughter for hitting Antonio Morra in the head, causing him to fall to the ground, on the evening of March 11th during the Subsonica concert at the Mandela Forum.

The victim was admitted to Careggi hospital where he later died.

There is the risk of escape and repetition of the crimeaccording to the investigating judge Piergiorgio Ponticelli who validated the arrest and ordered the prison sentence for 48 year old from Verona of Kosovar origindefended by the lawyer Luca Maggiora.

Thanks to internal security cameras and testimonies, investigators coordinated by prosecutor Alessandro Piscitelli reconstructed the attack.

The attack in the video

The attack took place on Thursday evening at 11pm at the Mandela Forum, on the Viale Malta side. The internal security cameras frame the scene – from the moment of arrival until the fatal blow.

Antonio Morra leaves the concert that has just ended for smoking a cigarette with his wife. The two are going down the stairs together when he probably bumps into a person who is part of a group of about ten workers dismantling the stage at the end of the show.

They are perfectly identifiable even from a distance because they wear reflective jackets.

The audio is not there but the images show what seems like an argument.

Morra is seen surrounded by the group of workers and suddenly you see a burly man coming up behind him — he is also wearing the same reflective jacket — and punches him in the head.

The cameras do not frame the attacker’s face but the police will be able to identify him a few hours later thanks to the videos and testimonies. All the workers have a regular employment contract and live between Florence and the province. Everyone will say that the attack would have been the response to Morra who took a Swiss army knife out of his pocket and threatened them.

The investigations

The forensic police, who intervened on the scene, were handed over the knife by one of the workers. The forensic analyzes will now have to verify Who do the fingerprints belong to?.

On Thursday evening, some Mandela Forum workers found in a flowerbed near the entrance a brass knuckles which ended up being kidnapped. We are now awaiting the outcome of the autopsy to understand whether Morra was hit with that object or whether he was killed by a violent punch.
