Modena, 7 May 2024 – According to the Michelin Guide, there are eight most amazing hotels of Italy and among these there is also Casa Maria Luigiathe (and quotation marks are a must here) “widespread bed&breakfast” on the outskirts of Modena, created and managed by Massimo Bottura and Lara Gilmore. The structure had already been elected on best B&B in the world by the Financial Times.
The new ranking of the Red team includes 146 names and addresses: 8 received the maximum, i.e Three Keys which herald “a unique stay”. Instead they are 31 le Two Keys, i.e. “exceptional stays”. Finally 107 were mentioned with A keyclassified as a “special stay”.
The motivation

With only 12 rooms, Casa Maria Luigia it’s intimate, but far from banal thanks to a lively design to a remarkable collection of modern furniture and contemporary art. You’re a 15-minute drive from Modena, but many guests decide to stay on-site to explore the gardens and grounds of the estatewhich include a poola tennis court and a fitness center that also serves as an art gallery.”

The new category of Michelin keys reserved for hotels – which Rossa has always dealt with in its guide – is based on five criteria:
- Excellence in architecture and design of the interior
- Individuality, personality and authenticity
- Quality and robustness of service, comfort and maintenance
- Relevance of the structure within the location where it is located
- Consistency between price and the experience offered
