The winners of the “Journalist of Puglia – Michele Campione” award were awarded at the Piccinni Theater in Bari, in the presence of the president of the National Order of Journalists Carlo Bartoli, the doyen of Apulian journalism, witness of crucial years for Puglia and of the rebirth of journalism in the aftermath of fascism. For the press and agencies section, the prize went to Nicola Sammali, for the article “The hidden treasure. The ‘jewels’ of the State Archives, timeless beauty to be protected” published in the New newspaper of Puglia; for the radio-TV section, Giovanni De Vecchis obtained the recognition for filming a report, broadcast on Canale 5, on the earthquake between Syria and Turkey. For the web section, the winner was Gianvito Rutigliano with the report ‘He was disappeared – The Luigi Fanelli case’, published on the websites La Repubblica and La Stampa, while for the photography section Saverio De Giglio was awarded. Special mention, as well as for Paola Ancora for the print section, Massimiliano Ancona for the web section and Maria Teresa Lapedota for the photography section, to Pasquale Stefano Massaro, TV section, for a special created for Telesveva which aired on 12 July 2023 on the tragic train accident that occurred between Andria and Corato on 12 July 2016. Furthermore, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the award, an award was given to journalists with more than 50 years of membership in the Order of Puglia.
