UDINE – Old Wild West Udine promptly returned to victory by winning 73 to 65 over Gruppo Mascio Treviglio within the friendly walls of Carnera.

Against a lineup that has returned to rotating 10 men and with some elements of absolute value (primarily the former Torino center Guariglia and immediately after the former Trieste winger Pacher), Udine must sweat a lot to overcome the Lombards, also because they still lack once Clarkhis man with the greatest offensive quality and with Caroti left injured after the clash with Trapani.

Vertemati, however, finds a great one Gaspardoauthor of an exceptional first half (17 points and 4 rebounds) who blocked the guests’ escape attempts several times and a Monaldi who, however, in the second half removed the home team from any impasse and led them, with the sound of bombs (5/10 for him, in the specialty), but also with a couple of supports at the basket, to the final victory.

After the first 15 minutes played on the edge of balance, with the guests being favored in some situations due to faster ball circulation, the Bianconeri took the lead in the final part of the second quarter, scoring with Gaspardo, Monaldi and Arletti the partial of 12 to 5 which sent them to +7 at the half-match siren.

After the break, which saw the award ceremony of the great coach Mario Blasone by the president of FIP FVG Giovanni Adami, the APU always remained ahead, resisting the increase in the defensive intensity of the guests, in turn opposing an excellent defense (apart from some distractions on the sudden incursions of the guests) and the baskets of a frenzied Monaldi.

AND Cannon? The new American from Udine showed some progress compared to his debut in Trapani: agility and physical strength inside the area which earned him 9 points and 8 rebounds in just over 18 minutes on the parquet. A significant injection for a team that, with him and De Laurentiis, has acquired that verticality and dynamism under the basket that they previously lacked.
