Streets in the dark, the Municipality studies solutions – Teramo

ROSE GARDEN. Yet another problem in the dark streets in the municipal area of Roseto. The problem has been affecting, for about a week, via Marina, via Seneca and via Orazio in Roseto sud and some areas of Santa Lucia, as well as Piazza Primo Maggio, where the electricity has been missing for about a month and a half due to the meters seized in the underground car park following the workplace accident which occurred on 13 March, which is under investigation and which does not allow intervention by the Municipality. For the other critical issues, which are repeated on a regular basis, there is a problem of obsolete electricity lines, which have not been replaced with the project financing approved by the previous administration. «We searched within the project», explains the vice mayor Angelo Marcone, «to increase the replacement of power lines, starting from the areas where the most blackouts occur. I remember Santa Petronilla, Campo a Mare, Voltarrosto in the upper part and in those areas the lines were changed, as well as in other areas of Roseto sud and Roseto nord. Obviously it’s not enough, but the project envisaged only four thousand meters of lines to be changed and we managed to bring them to 40 thousand meters”.
For Marcone, however, given the recurrence of the blackouts, further interventions are needed. «In areas where light is often lacking, such as the southern seafront, the Sacred Heart area or the industrial area», adds the vice mayor, «we must find internal, budgetary resources to definitively resolve these problems, also for a question of safety”. Soon, however, there will be the testing of project financing on public lighting, which will allow for faster maintenance than today. «To date the Menowatt company has not received any fee foreseen by the contract», recalls Marcone, «because, in fact, there is no testing yet, even if in the case of burnt out light bulbs it intervenes anyway, but with longer times. When the testing takes place we will start with the payment of the fee, but there will be specific maintenance interventions if problems arise.”
