Below we publish the statement from the municipal councilor of Chieti, Serena Pompilio (Political Action) on the school canteen issue.

Whoever praises himself gets “soothed” this could be the new slogan of the Ferrara administration on the school lunch service. Department satisfied with having restarted the school canteen on February 19th, after months of closure, and with having found the money to continue the service until May 7th. As? With what funds this is the question to ask. Out of 1200 students only 900 requested the canteen service and, therefore, in the face of an incorrect forecast in the number there is a residue that can be used until the beginning of May. But the question to ask is: why do 300 families no longer use school canteens? Why do they eat at home? Or do they bring the cooked meal to school? Why ? Naturally, the department of the branch has kept far from knowing the reasons and, perhaps, is happy that the money is being made and the service is being extended for another month. 300 children who no longer benefit from school meals but no one questions the real reasons, thus exposing the institution to requests for compensation from the foster company. In the meantime, we are praised for working well for the city, however, today we already know that the canteen service will not start again in September with the new service concession tender. So parents should prepare again with the carrier from home because the regional elections have already taken place and since there is no election campaign the problem is no longer of interest. In short, a disaster and the proposal to use the money from the solidarity fund remains unheeded. But the disasters do not end here because it has emerged that there has been a new appeal by Ladisa against the decision to revoke the tender already completed which lasted about two years. But no one talks about this either because it’s convenient to hide the dust under the carpet and, in fact, the canteen commission doesn’t convene so the less you know the better for everyone.
