Castellammare to the vote, the week of passion. A ‘new’ third name appears in the centre-left

It’s easy to call it a week of passion. While the city prepares to push and celebrate the miraculous Juve Stabia, with full sail towards Serie B, Stabia politics is at a standstill just over a month after the presentation of the lists. Like it or not, the Easter weekend will have to be decisive in defining a political structure in Castellammare di Stabia.

The Democratic Party is stuck between the position of Gigi Vicinanza and Roberto Elefante. The journalist – according to what transpires from his entourage – would have managed to find consensus among the civic souls that gravitate around the Democratic Party, while Roberto Elefante can count on the support of Azione-Stabia Rialzati, Movimento Cinque Stelle and Sinistra Italiana.

But the idea of a third name bursting onto the political scene is also gaining ground. This would be the university professor Loredana Strianese, wife of Maurizio Santoro, patron of the Stabiese Bank. However, a high profile name on which there would also be a convergence of the area that refers to the former mayor Salvatore Vozza and perhaps also the moderate area of Antonio Alfano, who in the last few hours has also opened the dialogue with Roberto Elefante with a official meeting.

The center-right is at the window, in a wait-and-see attitude. The moves of Forza Italia, Fratelli d’Italia and Lega are expected immediately after the definition of the centre-left framework, expected next week. In any case, Bobbio’s name popped up, but Nello Di Nardo would still be the name of Forza Italia on the table, just as there is always that of Giovanni De Angelis. A better name could be that of Mario D’Apuzzo, a former senator, whose availability is still to be assessed. Finally Anna Del Sorbo, president of young entrepreneurs.

Antonio Coppola, the only official mayoral candidate in the field, supported by Più Europa, Campania Libera, Italia Viva and a series of civic groups, does not budge from his positions. A defined coalition deluchiana.
