Anas announced the reopening of the bridge to traffic “Massa Vetere” on the SS19TER “Dorsale Aulettese”, located between the municipalities of Caggiano and Laurino. The intervention, which also involved the “Acquarulo” viaduct on the SS18VAR “Cilentana”, is part of a plan to modernize and make the Anas road network in Campania safe.
“Anas has made its utmost efforts to restore the entire state road to the area in time for the Easter holidays”declared the Anas manager for Campania. “An important result that demonstrates Anas’ constant attention to the safety and efficiency of the road network it owns.”
Alternate one-way traffic and traffic restrictions
On the “Massa Vetere” bridge, the alternate one-way system has been activated, as already in force on the “Ficarola” bridge. The entire road section is therefore passable, with the exception of vehicles with a mass exceeding 3.5 tonnes, which will have to use alternative routes.
Maintenance interventions and raising of safety standards
Work on the “Massa Vetere” bridge will resume in September and include the replacement of the supports and the raising of the deck. The duration of the intervention is estimated at approximately 45 days, during which the bridge will be closed to traffic and traffic will be diverted onto alternative routes.
“The final objective of the interventions is to raise the safety and practicability standards of the arterial road”concluded the Anas manager. “Furthermore, the elimination of the previous limitation on transit for heavy vehicles will guarantee greater traffic fluidity and better connections for the territory.”
