The regional initiative on Roots Tourism began in Agnone, with the launch at the Council Chamber of Italea Molise, inserted in the broader framework of “Italea”, the national project promoted and implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation within the PNRR, with the aim of attracting Italians abroad and Italian-descendants eager to discover the lands and traditions of their ancestors. “Italea Molise”, the regional brand of the project, will continue the promotion and development of Roots Tourism in the Molise area following the philosophy, ethics and values that inspire and move the ministerial project. “From Land of Departures to Land of Returns”: this is the objective pursued by the Italea Molise team which, in synergy with local actors, aims to build and promote an integrated tourist offer, completely dedicated to Molise people in the world and their descendants. A range of personalized services and tailor-made itineraries, designed to involve the “Roots Traveler” in a physical and emotional journey of rediscovering their origins in the Molise region.
The synergistic point of the event, supported by the Molise institutions and the Regional Coordination of Maeci, was the presentation of the dense network of activities pursued by Italea Molise to network the beauty and uniqueness of the Molise territory: the new italeamolise.com portal, Italea Card and the Roots Laboratories will be some of the initiatives at the center of the growth and resilience strategy for Molise in 2024 – Year of Italian Roots in the World.(Inform)
