MOMENTS OF RECOLLECTION AND PRAYERS IN THE CHURCHES OF MOLISE FOR THE HOLY SEPULCHERS. TODAY THE RITES OF GOOD FRIDAY WITH THE REGIONAL CAPITAL WHICH STANDS OUT FOR THE PARTICULARITY OF THE EVENT.
Crowded evening yesterday in the churches of Molise for moments of reflection and prayers on the day dedicated to the Holy Sepulchers. In fact, the historic and widely shared Christian tradition linked to the death and resurrection of Christ was repeated in a double ambivalent meaning of suffering and hope: suffering for the death of the Lord at the hands of man and hope in the defeat of death and pain. And everywhere there was so much composed and intense popular participation, with the churches decorated in a particular and significant way for the adoration of Christ, who sacrificed himself for all humanity for the victory over evil. In our region this has been repeated almost everywhere and equally throughout Italy to reaffirm the popular Christian faith. Among the churches of the Molise municipalities that have taken action in this regard, noteworthy here are the Venafran churches of the SS Viatico, of San Orione and of the SS. Martino and Nicola -unfortunately this year for the first time in its history the Basilica of San Nicandro remained closed due to the lack of friars and the contraction of the rites-, as well as the church of the Immaculate Heart in Case Bucci di Pozzilli on the initiative of the local faithful led by the Parish Priest Fr. Giuseppe Cellucci. And today, Good Friday, the rite par excellence of Holy Week with the procession of the Dead Christ followed by the weeping Mother. In this context, Campobasso stands out in a particular way with the very crowded choir of “TECO VORREI” sung with absolute intensity by hundreds of adults of both sexes, a ritual with a unique strength and deeply felt by the population of the regional capital. Everywhere, that is, rites, meditation and prayers for the true values of Easter upon us.
