What’s on TV tonight?
Fantastic Beasts and the Crimes of Grindelwald
The weekly appointment with the spinoff saga continues Harry Potter with Fantastic Beasts, who returns tonight with the second chapter, The Crimes of Grindelwald. In the film we see the wizarding world submit to the threat posed by the future dark wizard Grindelwald (played by Johnny Depp, who after this film accepted Warner Bros’ request to resign). In New York, Grindelwald’s power and consensus are growing more and more, while Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) will do everything to stop the rise of evil, which could also have repercussions on the people he cares about. With this second chapter, however, the saga of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them it showed numerous gaps and problems, which then led the saga to failure and is still on standby today. The appointment with the film, however, is at 9.22pm on Italia 1.
Jungle Cruise
For lovers of adventure comedies, however, it airs at 9.20pm on Rai 2 Jungle Cruise. The story focuses on Frank (Dwayne Johnson), captain of a small boat sailing near the Amazon jungle. Courageous and ironic, Frank accepts Lily’s proposal (Emily Blunt) to accompany her to the heart of the jungle, where legend has it that there is a tree of life capable of eradicating many diseases. Accompanying the English scientist is also her brother (Jack Whitehall), who will be at her side as the boat faces the dangers of unexplored nature, but also the threat represented by a German expedition that wants to find the tree of life and use it for their own purposes. He is also in the cast of the film Paul Giamatti, recently nominated for an Oscar for his performance in The Holdovers.
Escape to victory
Great and much loved twentieth-century classic of the seventh art, Escape to victory is the film that airs this evening at 9.13pm on Iris. The story is that of John Colby (Michael Caine), a successful former footballer now locked in a German prison camp. His talent and his story, however, intrigue Major Von Steiner (Max Von Sydow), himself a former footballer, who suggests the prisoner start a football team in order to play a friendly match. The protagonist thus puts together a team, which also includes the Canadian Hatch (Sylvester Stallone), who however wants to use the friendly match that will take place in Paris to escape from the pitch during the break. But honor will push the players to make a different decision.
Miss Detective
The recommendations on the films available on TV tonight end with the brilliant comedy Miss Detective, which airs this evening at 9.22pm on La5. The protagonist is the actress Sandra Bullock who plays a troubled and tomboyish FBI agent who is forced to sneak into the Miss America beauty pageant to foil a terrorist attack that could put the lives of many people in jeopardy.
Helped by the “guru” of beauty pageants (Michael Caine), the protagonist will have to do everything to foil the threat and prove her worth to her superiors.
