The first week of filming on the film ends today (March 29). Peter Greenawaythe most important film project in the history of Lucca, which the two Oscar winners, Dustin Hoffman and Helen Hunt, are once again bringing to the cast the city at the center of international media attention.
Excellent reception for the production, crew and cast who worked with the maximum collaboration of the citizens and the constant technical and logistical support of the municipal offices and the tourism councilor Remo Santini during the preparation and operational phases of the complex filming.
Filming of some of the film’s crucial scenes, such as the one on the Guinigi Tower (which will therefore be closed to the public on Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd April) e the night one in via del Fossowhere technical inspections have already begun.
“The production reported to us their satisfaction with the outcome of this first week of filming and the collaborative spirit – comments the councilor Remo Santini -. Citizens are also responding positively to this international project, with great involvement and tangible enthusiasm. The administration is providing 360° collaboration and support, also resolving the typical unforeseen events of these Hollywood macro-productions, which involve the use of over 200 people every day between workers, technical departments and cast”.
To allow filming to proceed smoothly, temporary arrangements are in place changes to roads and traffic, which the municipal administration will continue to promptly communicate to citizens day by day. The municipal ordinance, in order to reduce inconvenience, first of all authorizes free parking for residents in the blue stalls (with parking meters), as well as exiting from other gates and diverting the Tpl.

Next April 2nd, from 2pm to midnight and Wednesday 3rd from 3pm to 1am we will shoot on Guinigi Tower and the Baluardo San Martino.
