It’s almost time for Easter and over 4 million Italians are expected to travel. Among these there are many Romans and Anas predicts intense traffic in Lazio on the Grande Raccordo Anulare and the A91 Rome-Fiumicino.

Anas has predicted an intense increase in traffic flows along the road and motorway network quantifiable in approximately 32 million total transits with a growth in traffic higher than the weekly average of approximately 15% on Thursday 28 March 2024, and by approximately 5% on Friday 29 March 2024, compared to the weekly average.

To meet the difficulties of traveling on the road and motorway network due to the increase in traffic flows, the Infrastructure Hub Company of the Fs Italiane Group has decided to remove 404 construction sites or 63% of the total. On the remaining immovable construction sites (242, ed.) an optimization program is planned with alternative routes for the most critical sections.

Intense traffic will also affect Lazio after Easter. In fact, from 2 April onwards, among the routes with a large concentration of motorists, the Grande Raccordo Anulare and the A91 Rome-Fiumicino will be affected. Intense flows expected on the A2 Autostrada del “Mediterraneo”, on the state road 1 “Via Aurelia”, on the state road 675 “Umbro-Laziale”, on the state road 3 “bis Tiberina”. As regards the circulation of heavy vehicles, it will be suspended on Friday 29 March 2024 from 2.00 pm to 10.00 pm, Saturday 30 March 2024 from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm, Sunday 31 March 2024 and Monday 1 April 2024 from 9.00 am to 10pm, Tuesday 2 April 2024 from 9am to 2pm.

For information on the traffic situation in real time, you can consult the Anas “VAI” application, available free of charge in the “App store” and “Play store”. The “Pronto Anas” customer service can be reached by calling the toll-free number 800.841.148.
