Civitavecchia Port Authority dispute, one step closer

Civitavecchia Port Authority dispute, one step closer
Descriptive text here

Light gray smoke in the dispute involving the employees of the Port Authority of Civitavecchia. According to rumors coming from Molo Vespucci, the agreement between the body and the trade unions on the second level staff contract could be signed as early as tomorrow and would have been preceded, yesterday afternoon, by an initial discussion between the top management of the body and the workers’ representatives during which a pre-agreement would have been signed.

It is difficult to understand what meaning a pre-agreement could have 48 hours after an official agreement, unless the unions, in the face of the changes in attitude that have characterized the Port Authority in recent months on the matter, wanted in the meantime to put a first “black on white”. The positive turning point seems to have come as a consequence of a meeting held last Monday at the Ministry, in which the top managers of Porta Pia clarified to President Musolino that the correct interpretation was that provided by the unions, i.e. that the emoluments of how many had been hired before 2016. The agreement signed tomorrow, therefore, should follow the one that was prepared last week by the trade unions. We will then have to see what the attitude of the Board of Auditors, which had rejected the previous agreement, and of the Management Committee already convened for next Tuesday will be.
