Three arrested (one in prison, two under house arrest) for drug dealing: they also got paid via POS from “customers”, who used prepaid cards.

They sold drugs and accepted that as well as traditional cash payment with the pos: three people arrested in the province of Avellino for drug dealing. They are a 41-year-old, a 36-year-old and a 24-year-old from Lioni, in the province of Irpinia. For one of them the prison doors were thrown open, for two others house arrest was ordered. The investigations began in 2021, as part of a vast investigation by the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Avellino.

The investigations revealed that the three supplied themselves with cocaine and hashish in the squares of Naples and Salerno, equidistant from Lioni, and then resold it all in the municipalities of Upper Irpinia. The most sensational discovery, however, was that the drug dealers also accepted the POS to receive payments: in practice, the buyers were equipped with prepaid cards with which they paid the drug dealers, through a regular POS, thus paying for the drugs in electronic format. The three arrested, who will have to answer for drug dealing, were reached this morning by a precautionary custody order issued by the judge for preliminary investigations of the Court of Avellino, at the request of the Avellino Prosecutor’s Office. Already in the summer of 2021, with the start of the investigations, other members of this association were arrested and reported.
