VILLA COLLEMANDINA. A serious loss has struck the community of Villa Collemandina. Massimiliano Esposti43 years old, surrendered on the evening of Tuesday 26 March to the disease. Worker at Gaia (Tuscany water manager also for the Lucca area, ed), Massimiliano leaves his wife in pain Silvia Lenzarini, daughter Camilla (just turned 12), parents and brother Francesco. His father Maurizio was a family doctor at Villa Collemandina for many years and has only been retired for a few months. In December 2023, Massimiliano participated with his family in the ceremony that the municipal administration had reserved for his father to thank him for the many years spent serving the community.
Pain and torment
The family thanks all the people who were close to Massimiliano during his illness, in particular Dr. Emanuela Turriani, the palliative care staff and the home infirmaries for the loving care provided. A community in mourning for a passing that hurts and leaves you speechless. A sealed fate, but when the news started to pass from mouth to mouth, the pain became collective mourning.
Memories
As many friends also remember on social media, Massimiliano had never given up and fought until the end. He, a fitness enthusiast, used to take long walks with his dog, a Staffordshire bull terrier named Tyson. He took care of sewerage and purification for the upper Garfagnana, the place where he was born and raised and which he loved. Among the many messages of affection, those from colleagues are striking who remember him as a person capable of solving problems and never creating them, a boy with a heart of gold, always ready to laugh. A family man who left too soon, leaving in dismay the nearby community of Castiglione, the town of his wife Silvia, a social health worker in the new Garfagnana residence in Castelnuovo.
