Last year, collections collapsed by 36% to 3.77 billion. The amount invested more than halved. This is mainly due to the decline in mega deals. But according to Aifi and PwC, 2024 will be better
After a record two years, in 2023 the Italian venture capital market took a break. Blame the sudden rise in interest rates and the uncertainty regarding their trajectory, which led to a halving of the collection of private equity and venture capital and a decisive one contraction of mega deals. This is certified by the annual analysis conducted by Aifi And PwC Italy: last year the flows stopped at 3.77 billion euros (of which 2.5 billion collected on the market), suffering a drop of 36% compared to the 5.92 million in 2022.
