The Gema number one spoke to La Nazione about the present and the future: «We are focused on looking for alternative spaces to the PalaTerme»
Interviewed by the newspaper The nation, Alexander Lullipresident of Gema Montecatini, it was told between the present and the near future of the spa society. On the one hand the regular season concluded with an exceptional fourth place, on the other the ideas for the continuation of a project carried out so far in a masterly manner.
«On the sporting side, the credit goes to the entire technical staff, from Guido Meini to coach Del Re, and above all the players who take to the pitch. A super group for an excellent vintage. The only flaw – he admitted – is not having been able to share what he achieved with Giampiero Cardelli. I am very attached to him and I believe all of Montecatini basketball should thank him».
«Me in the meantime I’m working hard off the court – he continued – to structure the company in every component. Another objective is to form a group of companies ready to financially support the team and bring new ideas. We aim to further level up, Serie A2 certainly but why set limits and not also aim for Serie A? Let’s proceed step by step to leave a mark. The enthusiasm of the local entrepreneurs made me understand how this area can also support two teams at the highest levels. This is thanks to what we and the Herons are doing».

Finally, he comments on the question PalaTerme, soon closed for renovation works. It will be time for the two spas to find a new temporary home. «We are focused on looking for alternative spaces to PalaTerme for first team and youth sector activities – we read in the columns of The nation -. Young people are fundamental to our project. Simply a building is not enough but an entire welcoming environment, where synergies can be established with local clubs. Playing in Prato could be a possibility. It is one of many that we are examining.”
