He had carried out a robbery in a tobacco shop in the center of Barletta last March 19, 2024armed with a hammer.
For this reason a 33 year old from Barletta he was arrested in recent days by the State Police.
According to what was ascertained by the agents coordinated by the Trani Prosecutor’s Office, the man, with a criminal record, broke into the shop Corso Vittorio Emanuele with his face covered and with the hammer he attempted to open the door near the counter to try to reach the cash register.
The shot was then followed by a scuffle between the owner of the business and the robberwho wounded the man in the face with the hammer, and then fled.
Thanks to the victim’s testimony and the analysis of the images from the video surveillance systems, however, the escape was very short, as police immediately identified the alleged perpetrator of the robbery, finding him right near the tobacconist.
Now the 33-year-old, whose arrest has been validated and is in prison, will have to answer for robbery and personal injury.
