Spouses from Caltanissetta arrested for sexual abuse: “The landlord was consenting” – Il Fatto Nisseno

The spouses originally from Aosta responded to the questions of the investigating judge of Aosta by providing their version of events Caltanissetta ended up in prison on charges of sexual assault against a 65-year-old man from Valle d’Aosta. “They defended themselves by saying that the offended party consented to sexual intercourse, no one ever forced or raped him, no one ever threatened him. In fact, there are ten disputed incidents, but it may be that there are more. And he was free to enter and exit that house,” explains their lawyer, Massimiliano Bellini.

The warrant interrogation lasted just over an hour and a half. “The background – adds the defender – is the economic one, because they had rented this house, he had promised to do some work: my client had advanced more than 15 thousand euros of insulation material. Then this intimate relationship was established.”

The lawyer asked for release and alternatively house arrest, “considering that they are subjects with no criminal record”. The investigating judge Davide Paladino reserved his decision. According to what was reconstructed by the Carabinieri and the Aosta prosecutor’s office, the couple – he is 57 years old and she is 64 – had rented one of the apartments owned by the victim in June 2023, a person with a mild and naive character.

Initially the couple would have established friendly relations with the victim but then the nightmare would begin. During a rape, as some images show, he also fainted. The abuse allegedly occurred even when the man begged the couple to stop, saying he had health problems. The threat was to spread images of the abuse. The couple had also occupied the apartment from which they no longer wanted to leave. (Handle)
