TERAMO. Immediate availability on the part of the Province to host the Teramo municipal council in its council chamber in via Milli. President Camillo D’Angelo is ready to open its doors immediately to the Municipality also and above all in light of the possibility that the Science Park becomes a space for the cultural events of the Primo Riccitelli company. «For our part, the availability is immediate: a simple agreement between the bodies is enough and the room will be available to the Teramo municipal council», he assures, «the city is experiencing a particular moment and it is right to work together in a spirit of collaboration». For the city council it would be a return to the center after the earthquake forced the closure of the town hall in Piazza Orsini with the consequent transfer of council activities and various offices to the Science Park. This space, however, could now be allocated to Riccitelli to ensure the prose season given the unavailability of the theatre. In this case the municipal council would need a new room and on Tuesday, during an extraordinary Board of Directors meeting of Riccitelli, the vice president of the Province Andrea Core he put forward the hypothesis of the building in via Milli.
«We are all aware of the lack of spaces in the city for events, initiatives and assemblies and we have therefore made ourselves available with the Municipality to share our room», adds D’Angelo, «we are sorry not to see as much availability and activism from other institutions: I am referring to the Region which has been blocking for months both the reopening of the multipurpose hall and the start of one of our projects relating to the Mazzini gym”. The multipurpose hall has been closed for almost a year: it represents one of the largest and most welcoming spaces in the center and its unavailability weighs heavily in a historical moment of strong shortage of spaces linked to post-earthquake reconstruction and Pnrr projects. «For the multipurpose building we cannot fail to note the absolute inertia of the Region to which we have sent three reminders; We also sent two reports to the prefecture. No response”, explains D’Angelo, “in the multipurpose room we have carried out improvement works and only the fire certification is missing: on this the responsibility lies with the Region which must liaise with the fire brigade. Without that documentation we cannot open the room for security reasons. A circumstance which, however, does not seem to be of interest to the Region which, among other things in defiance of all rules, keeps the Delfico library open regularly, which is located in the same building as the multipurpose building and shares its heating plant. The lack of certification should also weigh on the library, resulting in its closure as for the multifunctional one. But is not so. I consider it serious, from the point of view of the Region’s inertia and collective security.” The president of the Province also complains about another stalemate situation linked to a project developed by the body on the Mazzini gym, behind the Delfico high school. «We want to redevelop it and make it available to schools, but also create a conference room with over 200 seats for cultural or other events» explains D’Angelo, «we asked the Region, which is the owner of the property, to sell it to us by separating it the value comes from a credit we have towards you of 10 million euros. The request, however, remained a dead letter. The project, which would make up for the lack of space, is ready but once again the Region’s inaction is blocking this city”, concludes the president.
