Ferrara Illicit management of construction waste. Five companies from Ferrara have been reported by the forestry police for illegally disposing of waste from construction sites in various parts of the provincial territory. The investigation, conducted in synergy with the territorial departments of the Carabinieri, started from an inspection carried out a few weeks ago on a private construction site for building renovation works in the municipality of Comacchio. In fact, from the documentary check it emerged that the delivery of waste materials by the operating company was carried out with means of transport without regular registration in the Register of Environmental Managers. This triggered subsequent investigations at two waste destination plants, one of which is located in the municipal area of Ferrara, the other in the municipality of Fiscaglia.

Here, in addition to providing feedback on the company that ended up under the magnifying glass of the investigators, the inspections allowed the police to identify other companies in the sector which, over time, had carried out contributions of waste material deriving from construction works (mostly cement, bricks and tiles) with vehicles not authorized for transport. The final outcome of the operations led the soldiers of the Comacchio forestry unit, who oversaw the entire development of the investigations, to report five people, owners of as many companies located in the Municipalities of Ferrara, Riva del Po, Poggio Renatico and Fiscaglia, for illicit management of non-hazardous waste.

The quantity of waste affected reaches a total weight of 65,300 kilograms. Each of the perpetrators was given the environmental requirements for extinguishing the crime.
