Phere is Bagnaia gave a classy demonstration in Sunday’s Jerez GP. What a race from Pecco, what a first lap, what a battle with Marquez, what a record 21st lap, what everything!
Total sample. The two-time world champion showed off all the best in him as his title rival Jorge Martin he crashed on lap 13 when he was first, closely followed by Bagnaia.
He finished in second place Marc Marquez but his race and the challenge with Bagnaia deserve a separate paragraph below.
Third, very welcome return, Marco Bezzecchi.
At the foot of the podium an excellent result Alex Marquez, followed by Bastianini And Binder.
From seventh to tenth: Diggia, Oliveira, Vinales and Acosta.
From 11th to 15th: Raul, Mir, Rins, Nakagami and Quartararo.
Out of the points: Bradl and Marini.
Retired: Augusto, Miller and Morbidelli (the Italian knocked out the Australian in an overtaking attempt), Savadori, Martin, Zarco, Aleix and Pedrosa. The KTM test rider crashed on lap 4.
Pecco’s first lap
Phere is Bagnaia, it must be said, it is the artist of the first rounds. Often, starting from the 2nd-3rd row, he managed to make some masterpiece starts and scary first laps.
Here in Jerez, where he won for-the-third-time-in-a-row!, he showed off an excellent start, an immediate double overtaking, an overtaking on the outside (!) to Martin and another overtaking to Marquez: at the end of the first lap it was first.
