Anything happens in the Spanish GP: the world champion is immediately aggressive, the championship leader takes the lead then lies down, Marc makes a comeback at the end and sparks fly with Bagnaia

Welcome back Pecco. After two anonymous weekends Bagnaia regains the luster of the world champion and with the Ducati he achieves a sensational success in Jerez with double value: an excellent Marc Marquez bowed out, second after a thrilling challenge at the OK Corral on the bends of the Andalusian circuit, and the ranking world championship straightened thanks to Jorge Martin’s crash. The world championship leader slips on lap 11, regrouping a ranking in which he now has only a 17-point lead over Bagnaia. Podium for Marco Bezzecchi, ahead of Alex Marquez, in his best race of the season, and Enea Bastianini.

Pecco in Jerez is a red fury: he sprints at the start, follows Martin, waits for his mistake, goes to dictate the pace and in the end he counters in every way, even with hard but overall clean fairings, Marquez’s impetuous rise. The two put on a remarkable show in the final laps, but the Piedmontese from Borgo Panigale has the attitude, speed and coolness to bring the contest to his side. Forced to draw his sword, Pecco did not hold back and having done so against an expert swordsman like Marquez magnifies the value of his performance.
