(Adnkronos) – “Climate change denialism does not exist for the government. We realize it. Sometimes the idea of pragmatism is confused with the idea of denialism, they have nothing to do.” Thus Francesco Corvaro, the Government’s special envoy for climate change, on the sidelines of the ‘Transitioning to net zero: energy technology roadmaps’ organized in Turin at the historic headquarters of Italgas. “The government – he added – is for a sustainable future starting from a present that is equally sustainable because climate change mainly concerns human life on earth as well as nature”. The hypothesis of nuclear technology is definitely feasible for Corvaro: “The Government’s will is not to leave behind any technology that can allow us to reach the goal of zero emissions. We have an industrial sector and very high know-how in the sector with companies that already work in this sector with new generation technologies. And then in perspective – he added – we are working on fusion, which is the energy that will probably allow us after 2050 or close to 2050 to take a decisive step forward towards the complete abandonment of fossil fuels”.
