The Cilento tabard conquers everyone, even in Venice. Proof of this is the success achieved yesterday in the splendid setting of Fondaco dei Tedeschi, where a meeting was held on the ancient wheeled cloak of medieval origins, moderated by Jacopo Nani Mocenigo Bentivoglio d’Aragona.
They attended the evening Sandro Zaraancient manufacturer of Venetian tabards, with some historic and unrepeatable garments, such as a black tabard with decoration inlaid with gold thread, the Maestro Franco Puppatohistoric tailor of Venice with some of his Goldoni clothes, Arrigo Ciprianiowner of Harry’s Bar, wearing a splendid white tabard, Franz Botre’director of Arbiter and indeed Ugo Cilentoowner of the Maison Cilento 1780, with a tabard made in his own tailor’s shop with a double cloth weighing 800 g, navy blue on one side and Black Watch tartan on the other, closed with a hook designed by Ugo Cilento which represents the needle and the thread, symbol of true craftsmanship.
Particularly admired was therefore the Cilento tabarro, made respecting the Neapolitan sartorial tradition with a fine English fabric and not according to the precise manufacturing canons of the historic Venetian garment: a choice that reflects the maison’s ability to respect other artisanal traditions and, at the same time, blend different cultures and excellences. The great history of Cilento 1780the respect for tradition and the search for elegance that has united the eight Cilento generations and the great competence and passion of Ugo Cilento are recognized in this creation with Neapolitan taste and Venetian inspiration, a city particularly dear to him for its history and for its undisputed charm and which once again, after the Golden Lion, recognizes Cilento as excellence in the field of tailoring and clothing.
During the evening Sandro Zara, Ugo Cilento, Franco Puppato And Arrigo Cipriani they have been rewarded by the well-known and prestigious Seguso glassworks since 1397 with a work of art that symbolizes the stitches of the fabrics used by the master craftsmen in their work. «Sharing my passion for elegance and style with Venetian excellence was an enormous pleasure and a source of great satisfaction for me, as was receiving the recognition achieved by the Seguso glassworks. A unique experience in a spectacular setting like that of the Fondaco dei Tedeschi”, he commented Cilento on the sidelines of the Venetian event.
