The alleged perpetrator of one has been identified robbery committed on March 19th in a tobacco shop in the center of Barletta. It’s about a 33 year old localwith specific precedents, which would also have injured the owner of the business.

According to what was reconstructed by the state police officers of the Barletta police station, the 33-year-old entered the tobacconist’s shop with his face completely covered and he would have tried to open the door located next to the counterhitting it with some blows from the hammer he was holding at the time, damaging it.

Failing to do so, he leapt to the back of the counter, ordering, in Barletta dialect, the owner to hand over the proceeds to him. Given man’s resistance, the 33-year-old allegedly grabbed the money from the till and tried to escape by hitting him with a hammer on the foreheadinjuring him not seriously.

The 33-year-old reportedly walked away riding a bicycle but he was tracked down by the police who found him still wearing the clothes and neck warmer with which he had tried to hide his face so as not to be recognized at the time of the robbery.

The 33-year-old was subjected to police custody on charges of robbery and bodily harm. He is in Trani prison.
