PESCARA. Appointment at 9 tomorrow morning, in front of judge Guido Campli, in the Court of Assizes in Chieti, for the start of the trial relating to the murder of the architect Walter Albi from Pescara and the wounding of the former footballer Luca Cavallito, events which occurred in Pescara on August 1, 2022: the alleged executor Cosimo Nobile, the alleged instigator, the man linked to the ‘Ndrangheta, Natale Ursino, accused of premeditated voluntary murder and attempted murder, and Maurizio Longo, accused of aiding and abetting, are under accusation.
The public prosecution is made up of the chief prosecutor of Pescara Giuseppe Bellelli, the deputy prosecutor Anna Rita Mantini and the deputy prosecutor Andrea Di Giovanni. This is a routine hearing in which the evidence will be presented, the list of prosecution and defense witnesses will be presented and, presumably, a timetable will be defined. At the base of the system
the voice recognition of the survivor Luca Cavallito is probative, indicating that Cosimo Nobile was the perpetrator of the ambush on that hot August afternoon at the Bar del Parco in Pescara.
“This is for you and your infamous friends” Nobile allegedly shouted as he unloaded the bullets from the gun – which turned out to be stolen from a security guard in a robbery at the Center
Agri-food of July 2022 – about the two unfortunate people. According to the prosecutor’s investigations, the execution took place for a large shipment of drugs that Albi was supposed to transport on a transoceanic voyage, a commitment that was then not kept. According to the accusation, the person who ordered that trip was Ursino who resented the blunder and therefore gave orders to Nobile to punish both Albi and also Cavallito who had introduced the architect to Ursino. Maurizio Longo, the other defendant in the trial, has the task of taking care of the logistics and therefore providing the weapon, the clothing, the scooter
used by Nobile and the helmet. The number of witnesses was large, just over a dozen from the defense of the accused, around sixty from the prosecution.
