State of unrest, starting tomorrow, with abstention from the canteen, for the penitentiary police of the San Michele Prison in Alessandria. The trade unions (Sappe, Osapp, Sinappe, Uspp, Fns-Cisl, CNPP, CGIL) made this known in a joint letter addressed to the Superintendent of Piedmont-Liguria-Valle d’Aosta and the director of the city institutes. Instead of using, as is right, the service organized by an external company, the agents will provide meals themselves or will supply them directly from the internal shop. “In the last quarter the prison had an increase of 70 inmates, almost all of whom had completed their sentences in prison. Most of these assignments are for reasons of order and security – explain the organizations – Added to this criticality is the fact that the Prison staff is significantly reorganized due to an incorrect staffing plan”. What is also worrying are the continuous attacks on the staff of the sections, “for which colleagues from the offices are also forced to intervene, thus no longer being able to guarantee the regular performance of the service. Already a few months ago a state of agitation for identical reasons, but no interventions of any nature were undertaken to alleviate the difficulties of the staff”.
