Crotone – After the training course carried out between active citizenship, legality and gender education in the classes of various Calabrian schools, the project “Bridges: culture and theater for active citizenship and change” – promoted by an all-female management team, made up of the CCO – Crisi Come Opportunity association, with the support of Intesa Sanpaolo and Fondazione con il Sud – arrives on the stage. In fact, on Thursday 4th and Saturday 6th April he will stop in Crotone and Locri If we told the truth – last chapter, the work-debate on legality created by Giulia Minoli, vice-president of Crisi Come Opportunità, and written together with the screenwriter and director Emanuela Giordano. For over ten years, this show has been investigating colluding behaviour, telling the story of the strength of those who, instead, oppose and denounce, underlining the urgency of planning together new forms of aggregation and commitment against the dangerous philosophy of disenchantment. It is a theatrical form which, by combining study and civil commitment, conquers audiences, creating enthusiasm and participation among students.

«Unfortunately, we can no longer speak only of “infiltration of crime” – explain the authors – but of “complicity with crime”, of “criminal practice” to which we are becoming accustomed, with distracted guilt. Theater does not give life lessons and does not offer us cheap solutions, but it offers stimuli and opportunities to learn and reflect. It is precisely this that we try to do with conviction, thinking above all of the children, to whom we are addressing with a work that, in parallel, we carry out in schools throughout Italy so that the show is not just an isolated occasion, but part of an approach to to issues that are fundamental to their growth.” The dramaturgy of the show will be enriched by stories of resistance and fight against organized crime, rooted in the Calabrian territory. Specifically, on 4 April, at 10.30 am, at the Apollo Theater, Raffaella Conci, president of the Terre Joniche – Libera Terra cooperative which works the land confiscated from the ‘ndrangheta in Isola di Capo Rizzuto, Bruno Palermo, author of the book “Al posto wrong. Stories of little girls who are victims of the mafia”, and Anna Dattoli, mother of Gabriele De Tursi, victim of lupara bianca at just 19 years old, moderated by Deborah Cartisano, coordinator of the project.

While on 6 April, again at 10.30 am, in the Palazzo della Cultura in Locri, Francesco Rigitano, founder of the “Don Milani” day center for minors in Gioiosa Ionica, partner of the Ponti project, will give their testimony, as will Carmen Bagalà, director of the Caritas of Locri-Gerace, and Vincenzo Chindamo, brother of Maria, barbarically killed by the ‘Ndrangheta, also moderated in this case by Deborah Cartisano. The debate work demonstrates how disengagement and disinformation can be fought with new formats which also tell the crudest and most current reality, involving students who, in turn, contribute to the growth of awareness in society.
