The memory of the ASL

The management of the USL IRCCS company of Reggio Emilia remembers with deep emotion Dr Egidio Campari who held the role of general director of the municipal pharmacies from 1995 to 2021, the year of his retirement, after having been a pharmacist from 1976 onwards and subsequently a manager of sectors of the same company.

In his professional career Egidio Campari has faced the challenges of recent decades with recognized competence and professionalism and under his guidance FCR has been a point of reference in the local healthcare panorama, becoming an efficient public special company capable of significantly financing the public welfare system and social inclusion projects.

The mayor’s words

Egidio Campari, historic director of the Riunite Municipal Pharmacies, a fundamental point of reference for many years of the most important public company in the city, left us today.

Egidio has spent his life and his professionalism for the common good, dedicating every day of his long career to growing the history of the municipal pharmacies of our city, of which we have just celebrated the 120th anniversary of the foundation, increasing every day the prestige, credibility, effectiveness and efficiency, together with all the company’s staff, pursuing both economic and social objectives.

He was a determined person, ready to sometimes endure even the toughest discussions, but discussing with Egidio was always a beautiful adventure, because at the end, together, there was the awareness of having taken the history of Fcr a further step forward.

I could happen to meet him on the street or at the exit of a public initiative or in any private context, and he would immediately stop and in a few moments we were already immersed in talking about medicines, investments, economic margins or social projects. He was a great public manager, competent and rigorous, attentive to the directions of the Municipality, but dutifully autonomous in pursuing them.

I believe that the most important virtues of the public worker were best found in him, which he was able to transfer to hundreds of Fcr employees who met him and collaborated with him.

In recent months, he had decided to retire. We then decided to present him with the First Tricolor in the City Council as a prestigious recognition of his career.

In the last months of his life, aware of the disease he was fighting, when he met you he never failed to witness the determination and anger at an unjust fate that life in its last phase had reserved for him.

He was an example to the end in interpreting life and profession. It was an honor and a privilege to be able to work together and accompany one of the most important and brilliant collective enterprises in the history of the city, the reunited municipal pharmacies, into the future.

Hi Egidio, we won’t forget you.
