The name of another woman is added to the list of women who frequented mafia boss Matteo Messina Denaro during his long absence. She is a 37-year-old trader from Campobello di Mazara (province of Trapani) who showed up at the barracks to say that she had met the godfather of Cosa Nostra but did not know her true identity. They would have met in the woman’s grocery store in Campobello in 2015. The background emerges from the investigation which yesterday led to the arrest of three unsuspected alleged supporters: the architect Massimo Gentile, the radiologist technician Cosimo Leone and the worker Leonardo Gulotta . In the meantime, the 51-year-old architect will be questioned tomorrow by the Palermo investigating judge Alfredo Montalto. According to the prosecution, Gentile gave his identity to the boss when he was on the run, allowing him to buy cars and motorbikes. Messina Denaro was arrested on 16 January 2023 near a private clinic in Palermo and, eight months after his capture, on 25 September, he died in L’Aquila, where he had been transferred after ending up in handcuffs.
