Siena becomes the capital of the Sports Dance Region for all of Tuscany. Today and tomorrow, two days of pure entertainment and talent at PalaOrlandi del Costone with the Regional Sports Dance Championships which they bring over 1000 young athletes from all over the Region with their families to the city of the Palio for many disciplines, over 1700.
“A great satisfaction, because Sports Dance in Tuscany is truly a great, truly great reality – cthus the Regional President of the Italian Sports Dance Federation Antonino Vallone -. And then, I have to tell the truth, I’m also proud that the regional championship is being held in Siena because I’m from Siena. I certainly think that Tuscany at the Italian Championships is the most numerous and representative region at an Italian level and this is truly a source of pride for all of us. We certainly have many champions both nationally and internationally, because perhaps everyone doesn’t know this sport yet, but after football it is the most numerous at CONI level.”
Space also dedicated to the Paralympic athletes who will take to the track for this event and have their own stage during this exciting two days full of colors and magical movements.
“The Paralympic is also important – continues Vallone -, because there are also Paralympic athletes who, as everyone now knows, a very important project for the Paralympic has been underway in Siena for some time now”.
A very important occasion because the winners will have access to the Italian Sports Dance Championships which will take place at the Rimini Fair in July and where Tuscany plays an absolute leading role. In recent years in Italy the numbers of athletes who choose these disciplines are on the rise, and it is no coincidence that for the first time there will be an Italian breaking dance delegation in Paris 2024.
“Sports dance has reached a very great level – declares Elena Mangiacarne, presenter of the Regional Sports Dance Championship -, especially since we have the Olympics this year in Paris 2024, with our “breaking” guys, who are working and achieving excellent scores at an international level. They are located in various parts of the world to reach the highest level and the highest goal. But we are there, we are certainly there with the Italian flag and with our athletes who are preparing at the top.”
