A new case of alleged medical malpractice has shaken the Locri hospital, with tragic consequences for an elderly patient. According to reports, the man, originally from a town in the Vallata del Torbido, died in Polistena hospital after a fall in the Locri hospital ward, where he had been hospitalized.
The death, which occurred around April 25, only emerged recently, when the elderly man’s daughters presented a detailed complaint at the Carabinieri barracks in Locri. The Public Prosecutor’s Office, led by Giuseppe Casciaro, launched an investigation against unknown persons and ordered the seizure of the medical records and body of the deceased patient.
According to the family, their relative’s condition worsened following the fall in the Locri hospital, leading them to transfer him to the Polistena hospital, where unfortunately he passed away a few days later.
The Locri Prosecutor’s Office is now faced with the task of clarifying whether the elderly man’s death is linked to alleged deficiencies in the healthcare received or whether it can instead be attributed to the patient’s previous pathologies.
