The public meeting “Work and good work are not the same thing… especially for women” will be held on Monday 29 April in Monfalcone (Gorizia), at 6pm in the Civic Library in via Ceriani 10. On the programme, with the report by the Ires Fvg researcher Chiara Cristini on “Lights and shadows of female employment in Fvg”, a round table with the professor of Labor Law at the University of Trieste Roberta Nunin, the exponents of CGIL, CISL and UIL Michele Glavich, Alessia Cisorio and Marisa Furlan, moderated by Lorenzo Presot of the Pd Fvg regional secretariat. The initiative is opened by the Work manager of the Pd Fvg Valentina Francescon and the provincial secretary of the Pd Isontino Sara Vito, candidate for the European elections. “We are approaching May 1st by confronting ourselves with the burning issue of women’s work – explains secretary Conti – because in Friuli Venezia Giulia, where there are important industrial realities, there is an increase in corporate crises, an expansion of poverty and precariousness, low wages and uncertainty about the future. Objective obstacles to the resumption of demographic and economic growth in the region must be removed. Effective equality between women and men also in the workplace is an open and crucial challenge for our future also in the European context. With a female employment rate higher than the national average, our Region is no exception in a context in which quality work for women is heavily penalised”.
