“For the last five years Basilicata has made numerous steps forward in the tourism sector, our region is increasingly attractive on an international level.

Authoritative data certifies this, not slogans, like the reports relating to the year 2023 from Irpet and Istat.

Travelers’ opinions for our region are positive and will be confirmed in 2023 first in Italy in the Tourism Regional Reputation Index ranking as regards hospitality.

Basilicata is now recognized internationally, and there are more and more foreigners who they choose it with a 40.4% increase in arrivals and a 25.5% increase in attendance compared to the already historic year of 2019.

Positive data that also derives from important new projects, such as roots tourism and passion tourism, o for the measures implemented by the regional government for the maintenance of the accommodation system which, only for the years 2020-2022, which it made available for companies in the sector over 60 million euros with an increase compared to 2019 in the number of businesses (+8.3%) and beds (+3.1%).

Even from an employment point of view, 12 thousand work units activated (plus 6 percent of the regional total), and also according to ISTAT data processed by Federalberghi and FIPE, the job market in Lucanian tourism is characterized by a high female presence and consistent youth participation, with almost 37% of employees under 30 years old.

APT received the special mention from Legambiente as part of the Italian cycling tourism Oscar, 2021 edition, and the national award for best communication with the Basilicata free to move campaign in 2022.
